CA unemployment rate as of May 2008

California as a whole had an unadjusted unemployment rate of 6.5 percent in May, with a 5.2 percent for the nation during the same period.

The U.S. unemployment rate rose from 5.7 to 6.1 percent in August, and nonfarm payroll employment continued to trend down (-84,000).
