Unemployment rate continue rising

Nonfarm payroll employment rates rose in 9 states and fell in 41 states and D.C., the department said.

Unemployment:

Michigan: 9.6%
California: 8.4%
Oregon: 8.1%

Unemployment rates continue to rise for about a year after a recession ends.
